Mas d’en Gil’s Bellmunt Blanc is a refined Priorat white that shows how serious the estate is about terroir-driven winemaking, even in its entry-level cuvée. Classified as a Vi de Vila, it can only be made from grapes grown in Bellmunt, giving the wine a clear sense of place and a distinctive mountain-fresh elegance.

Tasting Notes
Pale, bright, and inviting in the glass, Bellmunt Blanc leans toward a clean, mineral-driven profile rather than overt fruitiness. The nose opens with citrus, green apple, gooseberry, and lime, layered with fresh herbs and a subtle earthy nuance reminiscent of forest floor. On the palate, it is crisp yet surprisingly textured, with Grenache Blanc bringing breadth and Viognier adding a gentle roundness. The cool mountain climate and slate-rich soils help preserve freshness, giving the wine a lively, focused finish with good balance and ageing potential for a white wine of this style, though it is best enjoyed while young and vibrant.

Production
Bellmunt Blanc is sourced exclusively from the Bellmunt municipality in Priorat, where slate soils, high-altitude vineyards at 300–360 meters, and cooling winds from both the northeast and southeast create ideal conditions for fresh, elegant whites. The grapes are grown within the legally defined Vi de Vila zone, underscoring the wine’s strong geographic identity. Production is guided by Mas d’en Gil’s terroir-first approach, with harvesting and vinification designed to preserve precision, purity, and the natural character of the fruit.

Food & Serving
Serve chilled at around 12°C in large Burgundy glasses to allow the wine’s aromatics and texture to open up. It is an excellent partner for sushi, seafood, vegetable-forward dishes, lightly spiced Asian cuisine, and salads with herbs or citrus. Decanting is not necessary, but a few minutes in the glass will help reveal its layered profile.
