Description

Maison du Vigneron Pinot Noir Brut Dargent Méthode Traditionnelle Brut Rosé is a refined sparkling rosé from the Jura, crafted in a style that bridges Champagne-like elegance with Jura’s alpine freshness. Made entirely from Pinot Noir, it offers a delicate balance of red-fruit charm, fine bubbles, and crisp structure. Its traditional-method production and strong regional roots make it an excellent value alternative to more famous sparkling regions, without compromising on quality or character.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Brut Rosé shows a vibrant, pale salmon-pink hue with lively, persistent bubbles and a fine, delicate mousse. The nose opens with fresh aromas of wild strawberries, raspberries, and redcurrants, layered with hints of rose petal, white blossom, and a subtle touch of brioche and citrus zest from time spent on the lees. On the palate, it is dry and crisp, with a refreshing acidity that frames flavors of crunchy red berries, pomegranate, and pink grapefruit, supported by a light creamy texture and a clean mineral backbone. The finish is bright and mouthwatering, leaving notes of red apple skin and a whisper of pastry. As a non-vintage sparkling wine made for immediate enjoyment, it is best enjoyed within a few years of purchase to appreciate its fresh, fruit-driven profile, though it can hold well for a short period in the cellar.

Production
Sourced from vineyards in the Jura, this cuvée reflects a cooler, continental climate that preserves acidity and purity of fruit in Pinot Noir. The vines are typically grown on limestone and clay-based soils, which contribute to the wine’s finesse and mineral edge. Grapes are harvested at optimum ripeness, often in the early morning to protect freshness, then gently pressed to obtain a lightly colored juice. The base wine is fermented at controlled temperatures in stainless steel to retain aromatic intensity, followed by a secondary fermentation in the bottle using the traditional method (méthode traditionnelle). The wine then rests on its lees to develop fine bubbles and subtle complexity before disgorgement and a careful Brut-level dosage to achieve balance between freshness and structure.

Food & Serving
This Brut Rosé is a versatile food wine, pairing beautifully with smoked salmon, tuna tartare, sushi, and seafood platters, as well as charcuterie, light poultry dishes, and soft cheeses like Brie or fresh goat’s cheese. It also works well as an aperitif, especially alongside canapés, grilled vegetables, or strawberry and beet salads. Serve well-chilled at around 6–8°C to highlight its freshness and fine mousse. Decanting is not necessary; simply open and pour gently into flutes or white wine glasses to allow the aromas to unfold.
