Tasting Notes
Pale straw in the glass with a bright, crystalline appearance, this Sancerre opens with expressive aromas of citrus, white flowers, and ripe pear. The bouquet is lifted and refined, with a clean, stony edge that speaks to the vineyard’s character. On the palate, it is medium-bodied yet tightly focused, with vibrant freshness, pronounced mineral depth, and a long, precise finish. The wine has the concentration to age gracefully over the next few years, developing additional complexity while preserving its freshness and clarity.

Production
Chêne Marchand comes from a single vineyard in Sancerre, planted at around 240 meters above sea level, where the cooler elevation helps preserve tension and aromatic finesse. The grapes are hand-harvested, and the wine is fermented over 30 days before pressing whole clusters. It is then matured for one year in tank before bottling at the winery, allowing the purity of Sauvignon Blanc and the vineyard’s mineral character to remain front and center.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for refined fish dishes, especially pan-fried plaice, other white fish, shellfish, and the local goat cheeses that are a classic pairing in the Loire. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C to show its aromatic detail and mineral freshness; decanting is not necessary.
