Louis Roederer Cristal is the house’s iconic prestige cuvée and one of Champagne’s most celebrated vintage bottlings. Produced only in exceptional years from perfectly ripe Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the 2004 Magnum captures the finesse, depth, and purity that have made Cristal a benchmark for luxury Champagne.

Tasting Notes
Cristal 2004 shows a brilliant, luminous golden hue with fine, persistent bubbles. The nose is elegant and layered, with white flowers, ripe orchard fruit, citrus zest, and subtle brioche, all underpinned by a distinct mineral precision. On the palate, it is beautifully balanced and refined, combining a silky texture with generous fruit, lively freshness, and a long, crystalline finish. Notes of white peach, lemon, chalk, and toasted nuances unfold with impressive complexity. Thanks to its structure and concentration, it has excellent aging potential and can continue to evolve gracefully for well over two decades.

Production
Cristal is made exclusively in the best vintages, using around 40% Chardonnay and 60% Pinot Noir harvested at ideal ripeness from Louis Roederer’s top vineyard sources in Champagne. The wine is aged for 6 years in the house cellars and then left a further 8 months after disgorgement, allowing the wine to gain depth, integration, and finesse while preserving its freshness and tension.

Food & Serving
Cristal pairs beautifully with refined dishes such as oysters, caviar, lobster, scallops, sashimi, or delicately prepared poultry and white fish. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C, and there is no need to decant; simply allow it a few minutes in the glass to open and show its full complexity.
