Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a dark, saturated color that hints at its richness. The nose is full of black berries, ripe dark fruit, and a peppery spice that gives the wine its unmistakable Syrah character. On the palate, this is fruit-driven and generous, yet refined rather than heavy. The ripe fruit is balanced by freshness and lift, making the wine feel smooth, inviting, and elegant. It should also reward a few years in bottle, gaining even more nuance and harmony over time.

Produced in California from Syrah/Shiraz grapes, this wine reflects a style that favors ripe fruit expression while preserving elegance and balance. Maggie Harrison’s approach is focused on allowing the variety’s classic character to shine without becoming overly dense or powerful, resulting in a Syrah that feels both expressive and finely tuned.

Food & Serving
This is a natural match for rich, flavorful dishes such as rib-eye steak, especially with béarnaise sauce, as well as grilled lamb, roast game, or hearty mushroom dishes. Serve slightly below room temperature, ideally around 16–18°C, and decanting for about 30–60 minutes is recommended to let the wine fully open up.
