Les Fiefs de Lagrange is the second wine of Château Lagrange, one of Saint-Julien’s most respected estates, offering classic Bordeaux character with a more approachable style than the grand vin. Tasting Notes
In the glass, expect a mature garnet hue with brick-toned reflections at the rim. The bouquet is likely to show evolved aromas of blackcurrant, dried plum, cedar, leather, tobacco, and subtle earthy notes, with the oak now integrating into the wine’s tertiary complexity. On the palate, this should feel medium to full-bodied with refined tannins, balanced acidity, and a savoury, classically styled Saint-Julien profile. The fruit is expected to be more restrained now, making way for forest floor, spice, and graphite nuances. While already mature, well-stored bottles may still hold together nicely and continue to evolve gracefully over the near term.

As the second wine of Château Lagrange, it is typically produced from younger vines or selected parcels not destined for the grand vin, with harvesting carried out carefully to preserve freshness and fruit purity. Vinification follows a traditional Bordeaux approach, often including temperature-controlled fermentation and ageing in oak to add polish and complexity.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, game birds, and mushroom-based dishes. It also works well with aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C and decant for 30–60 minutes if the bottle is in good condition, especially to help the aromas open up after long ageing.
