Description

Leonardo da Vinci Vitruviano Vermentino Toscana 2023 is a bright, expressive Tuscan white that wears its character on its sleeve. Generous and immediately inviting, it’s inspired by the balance and harmony of the Vitruvian Man on the label, echoing the equilibrium between fruit, freshness and minerality. This wine reflects the sunlit hills and historic villages of Tuscany, a region long celebrated for both its great wines and great minds.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, the 2023 Vitruviano Vermentino shows a pale straw-yellow color with brilliant, almost silvery highlights that catch the light. The nose is fresh and defined, with notes of lemon zest, green apple, white peach and pear, layered with delicate floral hints of acacia and wild herbs, and a subtle saline touch that recalls the Tuscan coast. On the palate, it is dry, medium-bodied and wonderfully crisp, with lively acidity that keeps the wine vibrant from start to finish. Citrus and stone-fruit flavors unfold over a backbone of minerality, finishing with a clean, slightly savory note that invites another sip. This is a wine made to be enjoyed in its youth, ideally within 2–3 years of the vintage, when its aromatic intensity and refreshing character are at their peak.

Production
This Vermentino is sourced from vineyards in Tuscany where gentle hills, well-drained soils and a temperate Mediterranean climate create ideal conditions for aromatic, balanced white wines. Grapes are typically harvested in the cool hours of the day to preserve freshness and delicate aromas, with careful selection to ensure only healthy, perfectly ripe fruit reaches the cellar. Vinification focuses on purity: a gentle pressing of the grapes, temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel, and maturation on fine lees to enhance texture and complexity while maintaining the wine’s clear, expressive profile.

Food & Serving
Vitruviano Vermentino is a natural partner for seafood dishes such as grilled fish, shellfish, shrimp pasta and seafood risotto, and it also pairs beautifully with fresh goat cheese, caprese salad, light vegetable antipasti and herb-roasted chicken. Serve well-chilled at around 8–10°C (46–50°F) to highlight its crispness and aromatic lift. Decanting is not necessary; simply open and pour, allowing the wine a few minutes in the glass to fully express its fresh citrus and floral notes.
