Le Macchiole’s Messorio 2019 is one of Tuscany’s benchmark single-vineyard reds, celebrated for its depth, purity, and polished luxury. Born in Bolgheri on the Etruscan coast, it reflects the estate’s pioneering spirit and the region’s rise to international greatness alongside names like Sassicaia and Ornellaia.

Tasting Notes
Messorio typically shows a deep, intense color and an impressive sense of concentration in the glass. The nose is layered and expressive, with dark fruit, ripe plum, black cherry, and hints of spice, cocoa, and sweet oak. On the palate it is full-bodied, rich, and tightly structured, with velvety tannins and a long, persistent finish. The 2019 vintage should have excellent aging potential, developing even greater complexity over the next 10–20 years.

Production
The wine comes from Bolgheri in Tuscany, a coastal terroir shaped by the meeting of sea breezes, hills, forests, and mineral-rich soils. The grapes were harvested in the last week of August and the first week of September, then fermented for 25 days in concrete and stainless steel tanks. It was aged for 18 months in new oak barriques, giving the wine its signature power and refinement.

Food & Serving
This is a wine for rich, flavorful dishes such as grilled beef, roast lamb, braised short ribs, or truffle-based pasta. Serve at 16–18°C and consider decanting for at least 1–2 hours to let the wine fully open and show its breadth and aromatic complexity.
