Langoa Barton 2020 is a polished Saint-Julien from one of Bordeaux’s most respected historic estates, offering the structure and finesse that have made this Third Growth a benchmark for the appellation. Built on Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, it combines classic Left Bank character with the freshness and precision of an excellent vintage.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby color with vibrant purple reflections. The nose is expressive and refined, opening with blackcurrant, blackberry, cedar, tobacco leaf, and a subtle floral lift, while time in the glass brings hints of pencil shavings, spice, and earthy minerality. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, with finely grained tannins, bright acidity, and a core of dark berry fruit wrapped in savory oak notes. It feels balanced and composed, with impressive length and the kind of structure that suggests it will age gracefully for many years, developing greater complexity over the next decade or more.

Production
Langoa Barton is situated in Saint-Julien on Bordeaux’s Left Bank, where gravelly soils provide excellent drainage and help Cabernet Sauvignon achieve ripeness and concentration. The blend is harvested parcel by parcel, typically by hand, with careful selection to preserve purity and freshness. Vinification is carried out with precision, aiming to highlight the estate’s hallmark balance of fruit, structure, and elegance.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with roast lamb, grilled ribeye, duck breast, game birds, and classic mushroom-based dishes. Serve it at around 16-18°C, and decant for about 1-2 hours if drinking young to allow the aromas and texture to fully open.
