Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a bright garnet hue with the translucent clarity Nebbiolo lovers expect. The nose is lifted and layered, offering red cherry, raspberry, rose petal, violets, and hints of spice, tobacco, and earthy undertones. The palate is firm and graceful, with fine-grained tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, mineral-driven finish. It has the balance and concentration to develop beautifully with time, and while approachable with patience, it is likely to reward several years of cellaring.

Production
Sourced from the Starderi cru in Barbaresco, the wine comes from limestone and clay soils that help preserve freshness while building structure and aromatic detail. Nebbiolo is traditionally harvested by hand at optimal ripeness, with careful selection to ensure only the best fruit is used. Vinification is carried out with an emphasis on preserving the grape’s natural perfume and finesse, followed by maturation in oak to add polish without masking the vineyard character.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with truffle dishes, risotto with porcini mushrooms, braised veal, roast duck, and rich lamb preparations. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours, especially if opening young, to allow the aromas and tannins to fully open.
