Tasting Notes

Production
La Pruina’s vineyards are located in Puglia, where warm southern conditions are tempered by iron-rich shale soils that help shape the wines’ character and finesse. Many of the vines are trained as loose bush vines, an excellent fit for the region’s heat, and the estate works the vineyards by hand, often using organic practices. Some of the oldest vines on the property are nearly 50 years old, adding concentration and authenticity to the fruit.

Food & Serving
This is a versatile food wine that pairs beautifully with seafood, grilled prawns, light pasta dishes, risotto, fresh salads, and soft cheeses. It also works well with simple Mediterranean cuisine and vegetable-based plates. Serve chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, and decanting is not necessary.

Producer
La Pruina was founded by Pietro d’Apolito in the early 1980s, initially as a family project focused on olive trees and vineyards. With help from his wife Marianna, the estate expanded steadily across Salento before the family began producing its own wines in 2012, creating the La Pruina label. Today, the winery is known internationally, with distribution in more than 20 countries and regular awards for its wines, all while staying true to authentic Puglia style, drinkability, and elegance.
