Krásná Hora, Ruby, 2023

Krásná Hora Ruby 2023 is a fresh, easy-drinking red blend from southern Czechia, made for immediate enjoyment while still offering the charm of a carefully crafted small-production wine. Combining Zweigelt, Saint Laurent, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Pinot Noir, it reflects Krásná Hora’s focus on purity, balance, and minimal intervention.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright, clear ruby color with lively reflections. The nose is inviting and youthful, with aromas of red berries layered with subtle spice. On the palate, the wine is juicy and fresh, with soft tannins and a light, fruit-led structure that makes it wonderfully approachable. It is best enjoyed young, while its vibrant fruit and energetic character are at their most expressive, though it should hold well for short-term cellaring.

Production
The grapes come from selected parcels in Starý Poddvorov, Ratíškovice, and Nácestky in Moravia, where the region’s warm climate and varied vineyard sites support ripe but fresh fruit. The wine is produced unfiltered and unfined, with minimal sulfur addition, preserving its natural brightness and varietal character.

Food & Serving
Ruby is a versatile red that works especially well with everyday dishes, lighter meat plates, charcuterie, grilled vegetables, and mild cheeses. Serve it slightly chilled, around 14–16°C, and there is no need to decant unless you want to give it a little air before serving.
