Kosta Browne Russian River Chardonnay 2021 is a rich, finely crafted California Chardonnay from one of the most respected names in the region. Sourced from six of Russian River Valley’s top sites, including Ritchie, Charles Ranch, and Bootlegger’s Hill, it combines site complexity with meticulous winemaking for a wine that sits firmly among the benchmark Chardonnays of California.

Tasting Notes
Pale to medium gold in the glass, it opens with an expressive nose of lemon, peach, apricot, pineapple tart, butter, toasted brioche, and white flowers. The palate is layered and powerful, with bright citrus and stone fruit at the core, lifted by notes of honey, creamy oak, and a long mineral finish of wet stones and oyster shell. The wine has both richness and freshness, giving it impressive balance and length. It can be enjoyed now for its intensity and texture, but it also has the structure to develop gracefully over the next several years.

Production
The fruit comes from six of the best vineyard sites in Russian River Valley, where the cool California terroir and well-regarded Chardonnay sites help preserve aromatic lift and natural acidity. Farming is hands-on, with harvest carried out entirely by hand to ensure only the best fruit is selected. The juice is fermented in oak barrels and then aged for 14 months in French oak, 40% of which is new, adding depth, texture, and subtle spice.

Food & Serving
This is a versatile food Chardonnay that pairs beautifully with lobster, grilled scallops, roast chicken, creamy pasta dishes, butter-poached fish, or rich poultry dishes with mushroom sauce. Serve slightly chilled, ideally around 10–12°C, and consider a short decant if serving young to allow the wine’s full aromatic range and creamy texture to open up.
