Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a vibrant ruby color that hints at its freshness and concentration. The nose opens with layered aromas of blueberry, raspberry jam, blood orange, black tea, licorice, violets, and a subtle touch of vanilla from the oak. The palate is generous yet elegantly framed, offering ripe, expressive fruit balanced by fresh tannins and a graceful structure. This is a wine with both immediate appeal and the potential to develop beautifully over the next several years, gaining more complexity and nuance with time in bottle.

Production
Gap’s Crown Vineyard sits in the cooler southern end of Sonoma Coast, where maritime influence and a long growing season help preserve acidity and build aromatic complexity. Kosta Browne has worked with the vineyard since 2006, and the 2021 vintage was vinified by Julien Howsepian with 10% whole clusters retained. After pressing, the juice was fermented primarily in open-top stainless steel tanks, then aged for 15 months in French oak barrels, 43% of which were new.

This Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with duck breast, roast chicken, mushroom risotto, pork tenderloin, and dishes featuring truffle or wild mushrooms. Serve slightly chilled at around 14–16°C, and decanting is optional but can help open the wine if enjoyed young.
