Description
Jean Claude Mouzon Champagne Coeur à Coeur Rosè Brut is a refined rosé Champagne that brings together the elegance of Chardonnay and the expressive fruit of Pinot Noir in a fresh, vibrant style. Crafted in the heart of France’s Champagne region, it’s designed for those who want a pink Champagne that feels both festive and genuinely gastronomic. Its dry (Brut) profile and finely tuned balance make it as at home as an aperitif as it is at the table.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, Coeur à Coeur Rosè Brut shows an attractive, delicate pink hue with subtle copper highlights and a fine, persistent bead of bubbles. On the nose, expect red berry aromas—think wild strawberries and raspberries—layered with notes of redcurrant, citrus zest, and hints of brioche or fresh pastry.
The palate is lively and precise, combining juicy red fruit with the tension and backbone provided by Chardonnay. Fresh strawberry, pomegranate and cranberry tones are lifted by a line of citrus and a gentle mineral edge, while a touch of creaminess from time on lees rounds out the mid-palate. The finish is clean, dry and refreshingly crisp, inviting another sip. Enjoy it in its youthful, vibrant phase over the next few years for maximum freshness and fruit expression.
Production
Coeur à Coeur Rosè Brut is sourced from vineyards in the Champagne region of France, where cool-climate conditions and chalky, limestone-rich soils bring natural elegance, acidity and minerality to the grapes. Chardonnay contributes tension, finesse and citrus-driven aromatics, while Pinot Noir (Pinot Nero) brings color, structure and red-fruited charm to the blend. Grapes are typically harvested by hand, as is standard for quality Champagne, to ensure gentle handling and careful selection of bunches. After pressing and fermentation of the base wines, the rosé color is achieved either by a short maceration of Pinot Noir on its skins or by blending a small proportion of still red Pinot Noir into the cuvée—both traditional methods in Champagne. The wine then undergoes a second fermentation in bottle and spends time on the lees to develop fine bubbles, texture and subtle autolytic complexity before disgorgement and dosage to a Brut level of dryness.
Food & Serving
This Rosé Brut is a versatile food partner, pairing beautifully with dishes that echo its freshness and delicate fruit. Try it with salmon tartare, sushi, tuna carpaccio, grilled prawns or seared scallops; it also works well with charcuterie, soft cheeses like Brie or Chaource, or a simple roast chicken with herbs. For something lighter, pair with fresh berries or a strawberry and goat cheese salad. Serve well-chilled, ideally around 8–10°C (46–50°F), to highlight its crisp structure and fine mousse. A short 10–15 minutes in the glass is usually enough for it to open up—decanting is not necessary, but pouring into a tulip-shaped Champagne glass will help focus both aroma and flavor.
