Sourced from Cloudy’s Vineyard, planted in 1999 on remote, steep slopes at around 120 metres elevation, it reflects the cooler mornings and concentrated fruit profile that make hillside Cabernet so distinctive. Built for immediate enjoyment yet capable of graceful aging, it offers both richness and structure in equal measure.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Cabernet shows a deep, vivid purple core that hints at its concentration and youthfulness. The nose is layered and expressive, opening with blackcurrant, blueberry and blackberry, then moving into notes of cassis liqueur, dried currants, violets, leather and cigar box, with subtle touches of cola, root beer and cream-laced coffee adding extra complexity. On the palate, it is full-bodied and generous, with ripe dark fruit framed by firm, mountain-grown tannins and lively freshness. The wine’s layered character gives it both depth and lift, and it should continue to evolve beautifully over the next 10 to 15 years, developing more savoury, tertiary complexity with time.

Cloudy’s Vineyard was established in 1999 in a remote, steeply sloped site in California, where the challenging terrain and higher elevation help shape a more distinctive mountain expression of Cabernet Sauvignon. The cooler morning temperatures at around 120 metres above sea level contribute to slower ripening, preserving freshness while building concentration and structure. The fruit is harvested with care to capture optimal ripeness, and the vinification is focused on showcasing the vineyard’s powerful yet refined character.

Food & Serving
This Cabernet Sauvignon pairs beautifully with grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, roast lamb, venison, and richly flavoured dishes with mushroom or pepper-based sauces. It also works well with aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours when drinking молод, to help open up its aromatic layers and soften the tannins.
