J. de Villebois Pouilly Fumé 2024 is a fresh, elegant Loire Sauvignon Blanc that captures the region’s signature minerality and precision. Sourced from vineyards along the Loire, it offers a vibrant, classic expression of one of France’s most celebrated white wine styles, with roots in the historic hillsides of Pouilly-Fumé.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright, clear appearance that hints at its youthful freshness. The nose opens with inviting aromas of green apple, citrus fruit, and a subtle spicy edge in the background. On the palate, the wine is crisp and lively, with refreshing acidity and a distinctly green-fruit profile that leans toward the more elegant side of Sauvignon Blanc. It finishes clean and saftig, with enough structure to drink beautifully now, while retaining the potential to gain a little more roundness over the next 2–3 years.

Production
The grapes come from vineyards further up the Loire, where the climate remains closely aligned with the more renowned communes of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé. The wine is fermented in neutral vessels and aged briefly in stainless steel, a careful approach designed to preserve maximum purity, varietal character, and freshness.

Food & Serving
This wine is an excellent match for goat’s cheese, oysters, grilled white fish, asparagus, and light salads with fresh herbs. Serve well chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, and decanting is not necessary.
