Il Poggione’s Lo Sbrancato Rosato 2024 is a beautifully expressive Tuscan rosé made from 100% Sangiovese Grosso grown on the same prized vineyards that supply the estate’s celebrated Brunello di Montalcino. While it can’t be labeled a Brunello rosé under Italian law, it carries the same pedigree and a distinctly Montalcino soul, offering elegance, character, and remarkable freshness.

Tasting Notes
Pale and luminous in the glass, this rosato opens with an alluringly aromatic bouquet of fresh cherries and delicate floral notes. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and attractively dry, with juicy red-fruit flavors, a supple texture, and a clean, refreshing finish that keeps the wine feeling lively and precise. The wine’s structure and personality give it more depth than a simple summer sipper, making it enjoyable both on release and over the near term. Best enjoyed for its youthful fruit and vibrancy, though it should remain appealing for a short period after bottling.

Production
Lo Sbrancato Rosato is produced in Toscana from 100% Sangiovese Grosso sourced from vineyards in Montalcino, the same estate-grown parcels associated with Il Poggione’s Brunello production. The terroir is marked by warm Tuscan sunshine and the altitude and soils of Montalcino, which help preserve freshness and aromatic lift. Vinification is geared toward retaining purity of fruit and a crisp, dry style.

Food & Serving
Serve chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, as an aperitif or with light dishes that benefit from a fresh, structured rosé. It pairs especially well with seafood, shellfish, salmon, grilled prawns, and simple Mediterranean starters; decanting is not necessary.
