Tasting Notes
The wine pours almost black in the glass, with deep violet highlights that hint at its concentration. Aromatically, it opens with a dense, lifted bouquet of blackberries, cassis, and dark cherries, layered with cocoa, cedar, espresso, violets, and a subtle smoky-stone nuance. On the palate, it is monumental yet controlled: rich dark fruit unfolds in multiple layers, carried by a velvety texture and finely honed tannins. Despite its power, the wine stays remarkably precise, finishing long with spice, chocolate, and a fresh mineral edge. Built for the cellar, it has the structure and balance to age gracefully for decades.

Production
Ark Vineyard sits in Napa Valley, where the site’s character is expressed through small-lot, hand-crafted winemaking designed to preserve purity and detail. Every cluster is hand sorted, fermentation takes place in small vessels, and the wine is raised in new French oak barrels made from the densest heartwood and seasoned for three years before cooperage. It then spends up to 30 months in barrel, allowing the wine to slowly integrate its massive fruit, structure, and oak influence into a seamless whole.

Food & Serving
This is a natural match for richly flavored dishes such as prime rib, grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, venison, or lamb with rosemary and garlic. It also works beautifully with truffle dishes, aged hard cheeses, and deeply savory mushroom preparations. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for several hours if drinking young to allow the wine to open fully.
