Made from purchased fruit and vinified by Laurent Lignier, it reflects both the village’s classic character and the domaine’s signature precision. Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a vibrant, luminous ruby color typical of refined Pinot Noir. The nose is immediately charming, with candied red cherry, kirsch, and floral red-fruit aromas, alongside a subtle darker berry undertone and a faintly confectionery note. On the palate, the wine is supple yet well-structured, with polished tannins and well-balanced acidity giving it shape and energy. A gentle, mineral grip carries the finish, where darker berry fruit and a slightly grainy texture add depth. While already appealing, it should gain additional harmony with 1–2 years of cellaring and has the potential to age gracefully beyond that.

The fruit for this cuvée comes from Morey-Saint-Denis in the Côte de Nuits, where limestone-rich soils and the village’s cool Burgundian climate help produce Pinot Noir with both elegance and firm structure. Hubert Lignier’s approach is traditional and vineyard-focused, with an emphasis on healthy fruit and expressive terroir. The domaine avoids pesticides and herbicides, and the grapes are vinified with care to preserve freshness, purity, and site character.

This wine pairs beautifully with roast duck, guinea fowl, mushroom dishes, veal, or game birds, as well as more elegant preparations of pork or lamb. Serve it slightly cool, ideally around 15–17°C, and consider decanting for 30–60 minutes if drinking young to allow the aromas and texture to open fully.

Hubert Lignier is a family domaine founded in Morey-Saint-Denis in 1880, when Jacques Lignier acquired vines in the heart of the Côte de Nuits. Today the estate is run by Hubert and Laurent Lignier, who oversee around nine hectares and produce wines across Bourgogne, village, premier cru, and grand cru levels. Known for depth, structure, and impressive aging potential, the domaine has earned a strong reputation for making classically styled Burgundy with real precision and character.
