Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a rich amber-gold hue with polished highlights. The nose is layered and inviting, opening with heather honey, dried fruits, orange peel, and warming spice, followed by a subtle waft of peat smoke, toasted oak, and a faint maritime salinity. On the palate, it is full-bodied and beautifully composed, with notes of raisins, dark chocolate, citrus, nutmeg, and cinnamon unfolding over a base of soft smoke and sherried richness. The finish is long, silky, and slightly smoky, with lingering sweetness and spice. Thanks to its age and balance, it has excellent drinking maturity now, though its structure still allows for continued development in bottle over time.

Highland Park is distilled in Kirkwall on the Orkney Islands, where the cool northern climate and sea air help shape the whisky’s distinctive style. The spirit is traditionally produced with a proportion of locally cut peat, giving it a softer, more aromatic smoke than many mainland malts, and it is matured in carefully selected oak casks, including sherry-seasoned barrels, to build richness and complexity over 18 years.
