Tasting Notes
With more than two decades of bottle age, the 2002 is likely showing a mature brick-tinged garnet color. Expect classic Bordeaux aromas of ripe blackcurrant, cedar, tobacco, graphite, and dried herbs, softened by earthy, truffle-like notes that often emerge with time in bottle. On the palate, it should be medium to full-bodied, with resolved tannins, balanced acidity, and a savory, polished finish. While it is at or near peak maturity now, well-stored bottles may still hold together gracefully for a little longer, though the emphasis is firmly on drinking rather than long-term cellaring.
