Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Cerasuolo di Vittoria shows a luminous ruby to cherry-red hue, with a delicate translucency that hints at its lifted, aromatic style. The nose is inviting and expressive, offering notes of ripe red cherries, wild strawberries, pomegranate, and blood orange, layered with hints of violet, Mediterranean herbs, and a subtle spicy undertone from Nero d’Avola. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and silky, with Frappato bringing juicy, crunchy red fruit and floral lift, while Nero d’Avola lends structure, darker berry tones, and a gentle, savoury grip. Tannins are fine and well-integrated, balanced by lively acidity that keeps the wine agile and mouth-watering. In its youth, it will show a bright, fruit-forward profile, but it also has the capacity to develop additional complexity—earth, dried herbs and sweet spice—over the next 4–6 years.

Production
Cerasuolo di Vittoria is born in the rolling vineyards around Vittoria in southeastern Sicily, where sandy and calcareous soils, warm days and cooling sea breezes shape wines of both intensity and finesse. Nero d’Avola and Frappato are typically harvested separately at optimal ripeness, often picked by hand to preserve berry integrity and careful selection in the vineyard. In the cellar, the grapes are traditionally vinified with gentle maceration to extract colour, aroma and fine tannins without heaviness, followed by fermentation in temperature-controlled vessels. The wine is then matured—for a period determined by the vintage—in neutral vessels (such as large old oak or steel) to maintain purity of fruit and the hallmark freshness that defines Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG.

Food & Serving
This wine is wonderfully versatile at the table, pairing beautifully with classic Sicilian dishes like caponata, pasta alla Norma, grilled tuna or swordfish, as well as roasted chicken, pork, charcuterie, and soft to semi-hard cheeses. Its bright acidity and moderate tannins also make it a smart match for tomato-based pastas and pizza, as well as lighter grilled meats. Serve at 15–17°C (slightly cooler than room temperature) to emphasize its freshness and aromatic lift. A brief decant of 20–30 minutes can help the aromas open up, especially in the first couple of years after release.
