Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a deep ruby to garnet color, with the concentration and clarity expected from a serious Pauillac. The nose leans toward blackcurrant, blackberry, cedar, pencil shavings and subtle tobacco, with hints of graphite and violet adding lift and complexity. On the palate, the wine is firm, polished and layered, with fine-grained tannins, bright acidity and a long, structured finish. The 2019 vintage should have the density to age gracefully for many years, developing greater complexity with notes of leather, cigar box and truffle over time.

Production
Grand Puy Ducasse comes from Pauillac’s gravel-rich Left Bank terroir, where well-drained soils favor Cabernet Sauvignon and help produce wines with power, purity and backbone. The estate’s wines are traditionally vinified to emphasize fruit definition, tannic structure and the mineral edge that gives Pauillac its unmistakable character.
