Girolamo Russo’s Etna Rosso Feudo di Mezzo is a striking expression of Mount Etna’s volcanic slopes, crafted from predominantly Nerello Mascalese with a touch of Nerello Cappuccio. It captures the perfume, freshness, and mineral energy that have made Etna one of Italy’s most exciting red wine regions, while reflecting the family’s deep connection to the land.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby-red hue. The nose is vivid and aromatic, with fresh cherry, red berries, and a distinct lift of Mediterranean herbs that speaks clearly of its Sicilian origins. On the palate, the wine is full yet elegant, with bright acidity giving shape and freshness to the fruit. It has excellent structure, impressive persistence, and a refined, energetic finish. With its balance and backbone, it should age gracefully over the coming years.

Production
Feudo di Mezzo comes from the slopes of Mount Etna, where volcanic soils, elevation, and cooling influences help preserve freshness and aromatic precision in the grapes. The blend is 98% Nerello Mascalese and 2% Nerello Cappuccio, harvested with a focus on optimal ripeness and vinified to retain the grape’s natural purity, structure, and mineral character.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent partner for roasted or grilled red meats, braised dishes, and aged cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C. Decanting is recommended if enjoyed young, as it can help open the wine’s aromatic complexity and soften its firm structure.
