Ettore Germano’s Langhe Riesling Herzu in magnum format is a refined expression of Piemonte’s ability to produce characterful, mineral-driven white wines beyond its famed reds. Made from Riesling and bottled in a generous magnum, it offers extra cellaring potential and a slower, more graceful evolution over time.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a pale straw color with bright reflections. The nose is precise and expressive, with notes of citrus, green apple, white flowers, and a subtle flinty, stony edge that speaks to its Alpine-influenced origin. On the palate, it is fresh and taut, with lively acidity, a clean mineral backbone, and layers of lemon peel, orchard fruit, and delicate herbal nuances. The finish is long and focused, suggesting excellent aging potential, especially in magnum, where the wine can develop greater complexity and depth over several years.

Production
Produced in the Langhe area of Piemonte, where cool nights and varied hillside soils help Riesling retain freshness and aromatic clarity. The grapes are typically harvested by hand to preserve purity and selection, then vinified with a focus on precision so the variety’s natural tension, fragrance, and mineral character remain at the forefront.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with shellfish, oysters, sushi, grilled white fish, and dishes with light cream sauces or subtle Asian spices. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C, and consider short decanting if the wine is young and tightly wound, though it is also very enjoyable straight from the bottle.
