Echo de Lynch-Bages is the second wine of the celebrated Fifth Growth estate Château Lynch-Bages in Pauillac, offering a stylish introduction to one of Bordeaux’s most respected names. Crafted with the same attention to detail as the grand vin, it combines classic Left Bank structure with a more approachable, earlier-drinking profile.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, the 2023 vintage is expected to show a deep ruby colour with youthful brightness at the rim. Aromatically, it typically leans toward ripe blackcurrant, plum, cedar, graphite and a touch of pencil shavings, framed by subtle spice and toasted oak notes. On the palate, Echo de Lynch-Bages usually delivers firm but polished tannins, fresh acidity and a core of dark berry fruit, with hints of tobacco, earth and savoury oak adding complexity. While enjoyable in youth thanks to its generous fruit, it should also develop well over the next 5–10 years, gaining further nuance and softness.

Production
Sourced from the Pauillac appellation on Bordeaux’s Left Bank, the wine benefits from gravel-rich soils that promote excellent drainage and encourage the vines to root deeply. The vintage is typically harvested plot by plot at optimal ripeness, with careful sorting to preserve quality. Vinification follows a traditional Bordeaux approach, often with fermentation in temperature-controlled tanks and maturation in French oak barrels to build structure, texture and aromatic depth.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with roasted lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, mushroom dishes and aged hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C and, if opened young, decant for about 30–60 minutes to allow the aromas to open and the tannins to soften.
