Tasting Notes
In the glass, Finn 2023 shows a vivid, polished Pinot profile with bright red and purple fruit tones and a lifted, graceful color. The nose is aromatic and complex, with blood orange, cinnamon, mint, and ripe cherry notes unfolding alongside subtle spice and mineral nuance. The palate is vibrant and focused, driven by energetic acidity and a pure fruit core that moves from citrusy lift to silky berry richness. A finely textured, slightly gravelly mineral finish adds length and precision, while the wine’s structure suggests excellent aging potential over the next several years.

Production
The grapes are sourced from carefully selected parcels in the Russian River Valley, especially Bressay Estate Vineyard and Occidental Road Vineyard, where each site contributes its own signature of depth, freshness, and structure. The wine is made with minimal intervention, beginning with spontaneous fermentation and followed by around 15 months of aging in French barriques, about one-third of which are new, to add frame and subtle complexity without overshadowing the fruit.

This Pinot Noir works beautifully with roast duck, mushroom risotto, herb-crusted salmon, veal, or simply a plate of charcuterie and hard cheeses. Serve it slightly cool, around 15–17°C, and consider a brief decant of 20–30 minutes if opening young to help the aromatics widen and the texture settle.
