Sourced from the Meteor Vineyard in Coombsville, it combines power and precision in a way that makes it instantly appealing now, while promising impressive development over time.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a beautiful garnet-red hue that hints at the depth beneath. The nose opens with freshly picked blackberries and cassis, layered with dried spices, pencil lead, tobacco, and a subtle earthy note. On the palate, it is full-bodied and muscular, yet refined, with dark cherry, blackberry, boysenberry, cocoa, tobacco, and anise building through a long, compelling finish. The wine is already approachable, but its structure and concentration suggest excellent aging potential. It should continue to gain complexity and nuance over the next 20 years or more.

Production
Meteor Vineyard sits in the cool Coombsville area of Napa, where the climate offers freshness, but enough warmth for Cabernet Sauvignon to ripen fully. Winemaker Andy Smith blends fruit from two distinct parcels within the vineyard to shape the wine’s character and achieve its signature balance of elegance and intensity. It was aged for 20 months in French oak barrels, 55% of which were new, adding polish, spice, and supporting structure without overwhelming the fruit.

Food & Serving
This Cabernet Sauvignon is a natural match for richly flavored dishes such as grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised short ribs, or beef tenderloin with pepper sauce. It also pairs beautifully with aged hard cheeses and mushroom-based dishes. Serve at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the wine to खुल fully and show its best.
