Domaine Sylvain Dussort’s Bourgogne Blanc Côte d’Or Cuvée des Ormes is as close as you can get to a true Meursault in spirit, yet it comes with the far more accessible Bourgogne Blanc designation. Sourced from four lieux-dits in Meursault, it reflects the depth, texture, and class of this famous village while offering exceptional value from one of the area’s most exacting producers.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a polished, luminous white-gold hue. The bouquet is expressive and refined, with notes of golden apple, white peach, flint smoke, fresh nuts, buttery toast, and a subtle creamy lift. On the palate, it is intense and layered, combining a rich, almost silken texture with a vibrant, mouthwatering acidity that keeps everything fresh and precise. The finish is long, mineral, and lightly salty, with enough structure to suggest very good aging potential over the next several years, gaining even more nuance and complexity with time.

Production
The wine is made from Chardonnay grown in four lieux-dits in the outer part of Meursault: En l’Ormeau, Les Pellans, Les Malpoiriers, and Les Dressolles. Domaine Sylvain Dussort farms around 3 hectares here, with vines ranging from 35 to 60 years of age, and all grapes are harvested by hand. Vinification follows the domaine’s hallmark approach: 12 months of élevage on fine lees in oak barrels, after which the wines are assembled into a single barrel and then mature for a further 16 to 18 months.

Food & Serving
This is a superb match for roast chicken, veal in cream sauce, lobster, scallops, mushroom risotto, or aged Comté and other nutty cheeses. Serve it slightly chilled, ideally around 10–12°C, and consider decanting briefly if you want the wine to show its aromatic complexity and creamy texture at its best.
