Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows the graceful, translucent ruby color typical of fine red Burgundy. The nose is layered and inviting, with notes of autumn forest floor, wild mushrooms, earth, and mineral nuances, lifted by red berries such as strawberry, cranberry, and raspberry. On the palate, the wine is elegant and finely poised, with depth and complexity rather than overt power. The red fruit core is supported by savory, earthy notes and a distinct mineral line, giving the wine both precision and charm. It should age well over the next 5–8 years, developing even more secondary complexity with bottle time.

Production
Les Frionnes sits in the heart of Saint-Aubin’s white-wine territory, surrounded by Premier Cru vineyards and close to the borders of Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet. Very little of the vineyard is planted to Pinot Noir, making red wine from this site especially uncommon. Domaine Roux has deep family roots in Saint-Aubin and carefully farms its small parcel here, trusting that the terroir is well suited to Pinot Noir.

Food & Serving
This is a natural match for roast duck, game bird, mushroom risotto, grilled salmon, or veal with a light wine sauce. Serve slightly cool, around 15–16°C, to preserve the wine’s finesse and aromatic detail. Decanting for 20–30 minutes can be helpful when the wine is young.
