Domaine Roux, Chassagne-Montrachet Blanc, 2022

Domaine Roux’s Chassagne-Montrachet Blanc 2022 is a beautifully judged white Burgundy from one of the Côte de Beaune’s most celebrated villages. Made from Chardonnay and drawn from nine lieu-dits in Chassagne-Montrachet, it captures the commune’s signature depth, richness, and mineral finesse, with just a restrained touch of new oak to let the terroir shine.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, this wine shows a bright, elegant golden hue. The nose is lifted and complex, offering exotic citrus, white flowers, hazelnuts, and a subtle hint of vanilla. The palate is creamy and concentrated, with generous texture, ripe fruit, and a finely tuned balance between richness and freshness. A long, mineral-driven finish gives the wine real poise and class. It can be enjoyed now, but it also has the structure to develop well over the next 5–6 years.

Production
The wine comes from several carefully selected lieu-dits in Chassagne-Montrachet, a terroir renowned for limestone-rich soils that give Chardonnay its depth and tension. Sébastien and Matthieu Roux blend fruit from nine parcels to achieve precision and balance, and vinification is kept deliberately restrained, with just under 25% new oak used so the village character remains at the forefront.

Food & Serving
Serve at around 14°C in generous Burgundy glasses to allow the aromas and texture to open fully. It pairs especially well with baked fish or oven-roasted chicken with root vegetables, where the wine’s richness and mineral backbone complement the dish beautifully.
