Domaine Marey Aloxe-Corton Les Bruyères 2021 is a refined and characterful Pinot Noir from one of the most prized hillsides in northern Côte de Beaune. Sourced from Domaine Marey’s own parcel on the Corton hill, this wine combines elegance, structure, and the distinctive mineral imprint of Burgundy’s limestone-rich soils.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby colour, hinting at the concentration within. The nose is layered and expressive, with dark cherry, redcurrant, raspberry, peony, prunes, truffle, and a warm touch of cinnamon. On the palate, it is youthful yet poised, with juicy fruit, a firm backbone, and a beautifully elegant texture. The wine has clear ageing potential and is expected to develop further over the next 3–5 years, reaching its peak after extended cellaring and holding that form for up to 15 years.

Production
The fruit comes from Domaine Marey’s own vineyard located around 300 metres up on the Corton hill, where reddish-brown soils rich in limestone, clay, and marl provide excellent conditions for Pinot Noir. All clusters are fully de-stemmed before fermentation, which lasts around 15 days. The wine is then matured for 12 months in French oak barrels to build structure and finesse.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs especially well with duck, roast chicken, game birds, mushroom dishes, and slow-cooked veal, as well as aged cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting it when young to help the aromas open up and soften the structure.

The domaine’s position on the Corton hill gives it access to one of the region’s most respected terroirs, and this vineyard site is central to the wine’s identity.
