Description

Domaine Dujac’s Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru 2014 is a beautifully poised Burgundy that captures the finesse, energy, and precision for which the estate is so highly regarded. Sourced from carefully selected parcels in one of the Côte de Nuits’ most characterful villages, it combines old-vine depth with Dujac’s signature elegance and restraint.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Pinot Noir shows a bright ruby hue. The nose opens with red cherry and raspberry, layered with forest floor, gentle spice, and a subtle mineral edge. On the palate, it is graceful and harmonious, with silky tannins, lively acidity, and a refined, earthy core that gives the wine shape and persistence. The 2014 vintage is already showing well, but it has enough balance and structure to continue developing for several more years, gaining further nuance and complexity.

Production
The wine comes from selected 1er Cru parcels in Morey-Saint-Denis with limestone and clay soils, where old Pinot Noir vines bring concentration as well as finesse. Grapes are harvested by hand and partially vinified with whole clusters to preserve freshness and aromatic complexity. After fermentation, the wine is matured in French oak barrels, with a moderate proportion of new oak adding structure and a light touch of spice without masking the fruit.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for duck breast, roast poultry, veal, mushroom dishes, or game with a delicate sauce. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider a brief decant if opening young to help the aromatics unfold more fully.

Producer
Domaine Dujac was founded in 1967 and has become one of the benchmark estates in Burgundy, admired for its thoughtful, terroir-driven approach and elegant winemaking style. Based in Morey-Saint-Denis, the domaine has earned an outstanding reputation for producing some of the region’s most refined and expressive Pinot Noirs, with strong recognition from collectors and critics alike.
