Tasting Notes
Pale gold in the glass, this 2021 shows a bright, youthful clarity. The nose opens with white-fleshed fruit such as apple and peach, lifted by floral notes and a subtle touch of hazelnut. On the palate, the wine is well balanced and lively, with crisp acidity, elegant texture, and a core of ripe fruit framed by a clean mineral line. A hint of spice adds complexity to the finish. Thanks to the concentration of the vintage and the wine’s structure, it should continue to develop nicely over the next few years.

Production
Made from 100% Chardonnay in the Mâconnais of southern Burgundy, Le Monsard reflects limestone-driven terroir and the freshness typical of this part of the region. The 2021 harvest was shaped by difficult weather conditions, leading to lower yields and a wine with concentrated fruit and a very precise profile. The domaine’s biodynamic farming practices and restrained cellar approach help preserve purity, terroir expression, and balance.

Food & Serving
This is a versatile white Burgundy that works particularly well with fish, shellfish, and creamy cheeses. It is best served lightly chilled, around 10–12°C, to allow both its freshness and texture to show. Decanting is not essential, but a short aeration can help open the wine in its youth.
