Domaine Chanzy Givry En Vauvry 2024 is a characterful Pinot Noir from one of Givry’s most expressive parcels, combining freshness, harmony, and the darker, more savory side of Burgundy. Sourced from the south-east facing En Vauvry site, it carries the stamp of the region’s long winemaking heritage—vineyards here have been cultivated since around the year 900.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Givry shows a bright ruby-red color. The nose opens with blackberry, cassis, strawberry, and raspberry, lifted by nuances of anise and charcoal that add depth and intrigue. On the palate, it is intense yet well balanced, with ripe fruit at the forefront and a juicy, elegant finish. The wine’s combination of charm and structure suggests good aging potential, allowing its smoky, savory notes to integrate further over time.

Production
The En Vauvry parcel lies on a south-east facing slope with limestone- and marl-rich soils, a terroir that lends the wine its subtle smoky accent and distinctive personality. The grapes are harvested carefully by hand, then vinified by winemaker Max Blondelle and matured for 11 months in French oak barrels to build depth, texture, and finesse.

Food & Serving
This Pinot Noir works beautifully with roast chicken, duck, game birds, mushroom dishes, and grilled salmon, as well as softer cheeses like Brie or Époisses. Serve at around 15–17°C, and decant briefly if young to help the aromas open up.
