Domaine Bliemerose’s Alsace Pinot Blanc 2017 is a beautifully understated white wine that shows just how rewarding this often-overlooked grape can be. Made from organically grown estate fruit around Rosheim, it combines freshness, balance, and a distinctly Alsatian sense of place.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it presents a clean, bright profile with lively fruit and a subtle green edge. Expect mild orchard fruit alongside notes of asparagus, fresh grass, and a gentle mineral lift, all held together by a crisp line of acidity. The palate is balanced and precise, with soft fruit at the core and enough freshness to keep the wine feeling light and focused. Its careful élevage adds texture without masking the purity of the fruit, and while enjoyable now, it should continue to hold well over the short to medium term.

Production
The grapes come from Domaine Bliemerose’s own organically farmed vineyards around Rosheim in Alsace. Harvesting is done by hand, with bunches sorted in the vineyard before being gently pressed; the pressing lasts around eight hours, and only the finest portion of the juice is retained. Fermentation takes place naturally with indigenous yeasts, followed by 11 months of aging in casks before bottling at the estate.

Food & Serving
This Pinot Blanc is an excellent match for light fish dishes, especially simply prepared white fish, steamed fillets, or seafood with delicate sauces. It should be served well chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, and does not require decanting.
