Description

Dom Pérignon P2 2004 is a striking expression of one of Champagne’s most iconic names, showing the house’s signature precision with added depth, energy, and maturity. ‘P2’ — or Plénitude 2 — marks a later stage of evolution in bottle, where extended lees aging unlocks greater complexity, texture, and intensity. Built from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, this vintage captures the balance and finesse that made 2004 such a compelling year in Champagne.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a luminous golden hue with a refined, persistent mousse. The nose opens with citrus peel, green apple, white flowers, and fresh brioche, gradually unfolding into notes of toasted bread, vanilla, honey, and spice. The palate is rich yet precise, with bright acidity, firm mineral tension, and a creamy, layered texture that carries through to a long, resonant finish. This is a Champagne with excellent aging potential, and it should continue to gain nuance and depth over time.

Production
Sourced from Champagne’s chalk-rich terroirs, this cuvée reflects the house’s pursuit of balance, freshness, and structure. The 2004 vintage benefited from a stable growing season that delivered grapes with both ripeness and vibrancy, ideal for producing a wine of poise and longevity. After careful blending of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the wine spent 12 years aging on the lees before release as P2, allowing it to develop remarkable complexity and detail.

Food & Serving
Best served at 10–12°C, Dom Pérignon P2 2004 is an excellent match for shellfish, foie gras, grilled poultry, or refined dishes with buttery sauces. Decanting is not usually necessary, but a short period in the glass can help the wine fully раскрыть its aromatic layers.

Producer
Dom Pérignon is produced by Champagne Moët & Chandon, one of the most influential names in the region and part of the wider LVMH portfolio. The house is known worldwide for its prestige cuvées and meticulous cellar work, and Dom Pérignon has become a benchmark for luxury Champagne. The P2 concept highlights the producer’s commitment to showcasing how great vintages evolve with extended maturation.
