Description
Dom Pérignon 2013 is a prestige cuvée Champagne from Moët & Chandon, created only in select vintages and known for its precision, depth, and long aging potential. Built from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, it offers the refined, layered style that has made Dom Pérignon one of Champagne’s most admired names since the 20th century.
Tasting Notes
The wine typically shows a brilliant pale gold color with a fine, persistent mousse. On the nose, expect elegant notes of citrus peel, white flowers, green apple, stone fruit, and subtle brioche, with a more complex mineral and smoky edge as it opens.
On the palate, Dom Pérignon 2013 is structured and vibrant, balancing freshness with creamy texture and finely etched acidity. Flavors often move from lemon, pear, and white peach into toasted almond, pastry, and saline nuances, finishing long and precise. It has the balance and concentration to age gracefully for many years, developing greater richness and complexity over time.
Production
Produced in Champagne, France, from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir sourced from carefully selected vineyard sites, Dom Pérignon is made only in vintages deemed exceptional by the house. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified with a focus on purity, precision, and balance, followed by extended maturation in bottle to build complexity and texture.
Food & Serving
Ideal with refined dishes such as oysters, caviar, sushi, scallops, lobster, or poultry in delicate cream sauces. Serve well chilled at around 8–10°C; decanting is not usually necessary, though a brief rest in the glass can help the wine open beautifully.
Producer
Moët & Chandon is one of Champagne’s most famous houses, founded in 1743 and based in Épernay. Dom Pérignon, named after the legendary Benedictine monk often associated with early Champagne development, became the house’s iconic prestige cuvée and remains a benchmark for luxury Champagne, celebrated worldwide for its consistency, finesse, and aging potential.
