Description

Delarocque 1815 Champagne Brut is a classic non-vintage cuvée that captures the timeless elegance of traditional Champagne. Crafted from Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, it brings together the region’s three most celebrated grapes in a finely balanced and expressive style. As the very first line created by Delarocque, this Brut stands as a symbol of the house’s innate and unmistakable class, rooted in the oldest traditions of Champagne production.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, Delarocque 1815 Champagne Brut shows a bright, pale golden color with a fine, persistent bead of bubbles that forms a delicate mousse. The nose opens with notes of crisp green apple, lemon zest and white flowers, layered with hints of brioche, fresh pastry and subtle toasted nuts, reflecting time spent on the lees. On the palate, it is dry, vibrant and well-structured, with Pinot Noir giving body and red-fruited depth, Chardonnay lending purity and finesse, and Pinot Meunier adding roundness and charm. Flavors of citrus, pear and stone fruit mingle with nuances of almond, biscuit and a gentle mineral edge, leading to a clean, refreshing finish. Enjoy it now for its energy and precision, or cellar for 3–5 years to allow further complexity and creaminess to develop.

Production
This Champagne is sourced from carefully selected vineyards within the Champagne region of France, where cool-climate conditions and chalk-rich soils give the wines both tension and elegance. Grapes are harvested by hand to ensure optimal ripeness and meticulous sorting before pressing. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled tanks, and the traditional méthode champenoise (Champagne method) is used for the secondary fermentation in bottle. The wine then rests sur lie for an extended period to build texture and complexity, before disgorgement and dosage to reach a balanced Brut style.

Food & Serving
Delarocque 1815 Champagne Brut is a versatile partner at the table, pairing beautifully with oysters, shellfish, sushi, lightly fried seafood, and refined canapés. It also complements soft cheeses, poultry dishes with light sauces, and delicate fish preparations. Serve well-chilled at around 6–8°C (43–46°F). A brief 10–15 minutes in the glass or an open bottle before serving is enough to let the aromas unfurl; full decanting is not necessary, but pouring into larger white wine glasses can enhance its expressive bouquet.

Producer
Founded with a vision to honor the deep-rooted traditions of Champagne, Delarocque established its reputation with the creation of its flagship Brut cuvée. From the outset, the house has focused on blending the three classic Champagne grapes to express both balance and character, reflecting the diversity of the region’s terroirs. As an ambassador of its area, Delarocque contributes to Champagne’s global prestige by producing wines that combine craftsmanship, heritage and consistency, with the 1815 Champagne Brut serving as a benchmark for the house style.
