Clos Canarelli Rouge AOP Figari 2023 is a distinctive Corsican red from one of the island’s most respected estates, offering a true expression of Figari’s rugged southern terroir. Fresh, savoury, and refined, it captures the character of Corsica with a balance of wild Mediterranean aromatics and elegant structure.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a deep ruby hue with bright youthful intensity. The nose leans toward dark berries, garrigue, peppery spice, and subtle earthy and herbal tones, reflecting the sun-drenched landscape of southern Corsica. On the palate, it is likely to be medium-bodied and energetic, with juicy red and black fruit, fine tannins, and a fresh mineral backbone. The finish is savoury and persistent, with enough structure to suggest very good short- to medium-term ageing potential.

Production
Produced in the Figari appellation in southern Corsica, the wine benefits from a warm Mediterranean climate, strong sunlight, and the wind-swept, stony soils that help preserve freshness and concentration. This is an excellent match for grilled lamb, roast poultry, herb-crusted meats, charcuterie, and Mediterranean dishes featuring thyme, rosemary, or olives. Serve slightly cool, around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for about 30 minutes if the wine is youthful, to allow the aromas and texture to open up.
