Tasting Notes
In the glass, expect a deep ruby colour with a polished, concentrated core. The nose typically opens with black cherry, plum, violet, graphite, and subtle spice, layered with hints of cocoa and toasted oak. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and structured, combining ripe dark fruit with velvety tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, savoury finish. While already attractive in its youth, it has the balance and structure to develop beautifully with time, and should age well for many years.

Produced in Saint-Émilion, where limestone and clay-rich soils help give the wines both power and freshness, Château Troplong Mondot benefits from an elevated site with excellent drainage and exposure. The estate is typically harvested by hand, with careful selection in both the vineyard and cellar, followed by vinification aimed at preserving purity, concentration, and site expression.

This wine pairs beautifully with roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, mushroom dishes, and hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for about 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the aromas and structure to open up fully.
