Château Rocheyron 2016 is a refined Saint-Émilion Grand Cru from Bordeaux, crafted by Peter Sisseck in partnership with Silvio Denz. Built on a classic Merlot-led blend with Cabernet Franc, it captures the balance of power, finesse, and mineral precision that has made the appellation so highly regarded.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, dark ruby color that hints at its concentration and structure. The nose is layered and expressive, with ripe black berries, cherry, violet, warming spice, and subtle toasty notes from oak aging. The palate is concentrated yet elegant, framed by ripe tannins and bright acidity that keep the wine fresh and poised. A silky texture carries the fruit through a long, harmonious finish marked by lingering berry notes and a distinct mineral edge. While already impressive, it has excellent aging potential and should continue to gain depth and complexity over the coming years.

Production
Château Rocheyron comes from old vines rooted in the limestone and clay soils of Saint-Émilion, where the terroir brings both structure and finesse to the wine. The blend is predominantly Merlot, supported by Cabernet Franc, and the grapes are harvested with care to preserve purity and balance. Vinification is designed to respect the character of the fruit and the site, with oak aging adding subtle spice and texture without overpowering the wine’s natural elegance.

Food & Serving
This is a superb match for rich dishes such as roast lamb, beef, game, and hearty braised meats, as well as mature cheeses. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and decanting is recommended if opening now to allow the wine to fully unfold and soften its tannins.
