Château Margaux is situated on some of the most privileged terroir in the Médoc, with deep gravel soils layered over limestone and clay that offer superb drainage and naturally low yields—ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon-led blends of great finesse. The 2020 vintage benefited from meticulous vineyard work, including careful canopy management and selective harvesting by hand, parcel by parcel, to ensure only perfectly ripe, healthy grapes were brought to the winery. Vinification typically involves fermentation in temperature-controlled vats, with plots and varieties vinified separately to preserve their unique character before blending. The grand vin is then matured in a high proportion of new French oak barrels, where it gains additional complexity, texture, and aromatic nuance while maintaining the estate’s hallmark elegance and purity of fruit.
