The wine shows a handsome brick-red hue with a translucent rim, reflecting graceful maturity while still retaining vitality. The palate is silken and almost weightless in texture, yet firmly structured beneath the surface. Château Margaux’s gravelly terroir in the Médoc is ideally suited to Cabernet Sauvignon, which forms the backbone of the blend, supported by Merlot and Cabernet Franc for depth and aromatic finesse. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant gently if needed; with an older bottle like this, brief aeration is preferable to preserve its delicate aromatics.
