Tasting Notes
In the glass, the 2022 Malartic-Lagravière shows a deep ruby color with a dark, almost plum-like core. The nose is intense and layered, with cassis, blackberry, and plum lifted by notes of cocoa, leather, tobacco, graphite, and a subtle mineral edge. The palate is concentrated and full-bodied, yet polished and balanced. Firm tannins frame the dark fruit, while fresh acidity keeps the wine vibrant and gives the finish a balsamic lift; the aftertaste is long, with fruit, spice, and restrained oak lingering gracefully. While already enjoyable, it has strong cellaring potential and should develop beautifully over the coming years.

Production
The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted to ensure optimal ripeness and health. The blend is vinified parcel by parcel in temperature-controlled tanks, using a mix of wood and stainless steel, before aging for around 18–20 months in French oak barrels, approximately 60% of which are new. This careful approach helps preserve site expression while building depth, texture, and complexity.

Food & Serving
This wine is an excellent match for roast lamb, beef tenderloin, game birds, duck breast, and dishes with earthy mushroom sauces. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the wine to open and show its full aromatic range.
