Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, dark ruby color that hints at its concentration. The nose opens with cassis, blueberries, and ripe plum, layered with cedar, graphite, and a subtle cigar-box note that adds classic Bordeaux complexity. The palate is concentrated yet poised, with firm but polished tannins framing the dark fruit and spice beautifully. It finishes long, clean, and vibrant, with a freshness that keeps the wine feeling energetic despite its impressive structure. While it can be enjoyed now with time in a decanter, it has excellent aging potential and is expected to develop beautifully over the next 10 to 15 years, and likely beyond.

Production
Château Léoville Barton 2016 is made in the heart of Saint-Julien, where gravel-rich Bordeaux terroir provides excellent drainage and ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon. The blend is classically Médoc, led by Cabernet Sauvignon with a significant proportion of Merlot, and it is matured in French oak barrels to add depth, spice, and structure without overpowering the fruit.

Food & Serving
This is an ideal match for ribeye steak, lamb, roast beef, game, or mushroom-based dishes with rich sauces. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for at least 1–2 hours if drinking young; with additional bottle age, a shorter decant may be enough.
