Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine typically shows a deep garnet colour with mature ruby highlights. The nose is layered and elegant, with notes of blackcurrant, cedar, tobacco, graphite, and subtle spice, unfolding beautifully with time in the glass. On the palate, it is refined and firmly structured, with ripe dark fruit, polished tannins, and a long, savoury finish marked by earthy and mineral nuances. The 2000 vintage has the balance and concentration to age gracefully for many years, and well-stored bottles may still offer excellent drinking now.

Production
Produced at Château Latour in Pauillac, the wine comes from carefully selected vineyard parcels that reflect the estate’s gravelly terroir, ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon-driven Bordeaux. The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc is vinified with precision to preserve purity, structure, and site expression, then matured in oak barrels to build complexity and texture.

Food & Serving
This is a classic match for roast lamb, beef tenderloin, venison, duck confit, or mushroom-based dishes. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for at least 1 hour if the bottle shows youthful structure or sediment; older bottles may only need a gentle splash-decant or careful pouring.
