Château Haut-Blanville is a beautifully crafted Languedoc red that reflects the character of the Grés de Montpellier appellation and the estate’s long commitment to thoughtful, terroir-driven winemaking. Established in 1955 and built parcel by parcel near Montpellier, the domaine is known for producing wines of freshness, mineral precision, and real aging potential.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, this vintage shows the depth and richness you would expect from a carefully matured Languedoc red. The nose is highly complex, opening with intense aromas of blackberry, vanilla, and tobacco, while the palate is smooth and well balanced, combining ripe fruit with a distinctive freshness and mineral edge. Silky tannins, a rounded texture, and a layered aromatic profile lead to a long, fresh finish with notable finesse. Thanks to its structure and careful oak aging, it has excellent cellaring potential.

Production
The vineyards are located on a 150-meter plateau in Le Vieux Chemin de Fer, with exposures in all four directions and influences from the Mediterranean, the Pyrenees, and the Cévennes. This varied terroir helps preserve freshness and mineral tension in the wine. Harvesting is done entirely by hand, and the red wines undergo long maceration after alcoholic fermentation before spending 24 to 36 months in new oak barrels. They are then transferred to stainless steel tanks for a period of natural settling before bottling.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs particularly well with red meats, grilled beef with a rich dark sauce, game, mature cheeses, and even chocolate tart for a more indulgent finish. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and decanting is recommended to help the wine खुल up and express its full aromatic complexity.

Château Haut-Blanville was founded by Béatrice and Bernard Nivollet in 1955, with the ambition of making wines that showcase the diversity of Languedoc’s terroirs. Over the last twenty years, the estate has carefully selected individual parcels and vinified them separately, creating a portfolio of handcrafted wines rooted in organic and responsible viticulture. Today, the domaine spans 70 hectares across five terroirs within Grés de Montpellier and is widely appreciated for the quality and precision of its wines.
