Production
The 2021 vintage benefited from a balanced summer from June to September, which helped preserve excellent acidity in the grapes. Two rain periods in mid-September and early October encouraged a favorable spread of botrytis cinerea, followed by sunny conditions that allowed the fruit to reach impressive concentration. The result is a Sauternes of purity, freshness, and meticulous balance.

Food & Serving
Château d’Yquem pairs beautifully with foie gras, blue cheese, tarte Tatin, apricot-based desserts, and refined fruit tarts. It can also be enjoyed on its own as a contemplative wine. Serve lightly chilled at around 10–12°C, and decanting is generally not necessary, though a short aeration can help the wine open in its early years.
